Session: Berlin Creative Network Analysis

Complexity science methods and various graph analysis techniques will be applied to research Berlin’s creative industries, art venues, platforms, and the people involved. Using the relations data from ThisIsLike.Com we will map various parts of the scene represented as a network. We will demonstrate a “bird’s eye” view of who is who in Berlin’s creative scene. For example, who is the important to keep the network alive, what various subgroups exist within the scene, who is exploiting the network, what are the main “authorities”. During the analysis we will explain the method and hope to inspire participants to use this technique for other scenes and purposes.
